Talbiyah

Recited throughout Hajj & Umrah after entering Ihram

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Transliteration

Labbayk Allāhumma labbayk, labbayk lā sharīka laka labbayk, inna al-ḥamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, lā sharīka lak

Translation

Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Indeed, all praise, grace, and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner.

Entering the Masjid

When entering Masjid al-Haram or Masjid an-Nabawi

اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

Transliteration

Allāhumma iftaḥ lī abwāba raḥmatik

Translation

O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.

Upon Seeing the Ka'bah

First sight of the Ka'bah

اللَّهُمَّ زِدْ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ تَشْرِيفًا وَتَعْظِيمًا وَتَكْرِيمًا وَمَهَابَةً، وَزِدْ مَنْ شَرَّفَهُ وَكَرَّمَهُ مِمَّنْ حَجَّهُ أَوِ اعْتَمَرَهُ تَشْرِيفًا وَتَكْرِيمًا وَتَعْظِيمًا وَبِرًّا

Transliteration

Allāhumma zid hādhal-bayta tashrīfan wa ta'ẓīman wa takrīman wa mahābah, wa zid man sharrafahū wa karramahū mimman ḥajjahū awi'tamarahū tashrīfan wa takrīman wa ta'ẓīman wa birrā

Translation

O Allah, increase this House in honor, esteem, nobility, and reverence. And increase those who honor and venerate it - of those who perform Hajj or Umrah - in honor, nobility, esteem, and righteousness.

Starting Tawaf

At the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ إِيمَانًا بِكَ وَتَصْدِيقًا بِكِتَابِكَ وَوَفَاءً بِعَهْدِكَ وَاتِّبَاعًا لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ ﷺ

Transliteration

Bismillāhi wallāhu akbar, Allāhumma īmānan bika wa taṣdīqan bi-kitābika wa wafā'an bi-'ahdika wat-tibā'an li-sunnati nabiyyika ﷺ

Translation

In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, out of faith in You, belief in Your Book, fulfillment of Your covenant, and following the Sunnah of Your Prophet ﷺ.

Between Rukn Yamani & Hajar al-Aswad

During each round of Tawaf

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration

Rabbanā ātinā fid-dunyā ḥasanah wa fil-ākhirati ḥasanah wa qinā 'adhāban-nār

Translation

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

At Mount Safa

Beginning Sa'i at Safa

إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ، أَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ

Transliteration

Innaṣ-ṣafā wal-marwata min sha'ā'iril-lāh, abda'u bimā bada'allāhu bih

Translation

Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. I begin with what Allah began with.

Day of Arafah

The greatest dua on the greatest day

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Transliteration

Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa 'alā kulli shay'in qadīr

Translation

There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion, to Him belongs all praise, and He is able to do all things.

At Muzdalifah

After Maghrib and Isha combined

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي جَوَامِعَ الْخَيْرِ، وَأَنْ تُعِيذَنِي مِنَ الشَّرِّ كُلِّهِ

Transliteration

Allāhumma innī as'aluka an tarzuqanī jawāmi'al-khayr, wa an tu'īdhanī minash-sharri kullih

Translation

O Allah, I ask You to grant me comprehensive goodness, and to protect me from all evil.

During Stoning (Rami)

At each throw of the pebbles

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Transliteration

Allāhu Akbar

Translation

Allah is the Greatest.

Leaving the Masjid

When exiting any mosque

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

Transliteration

Allāhumma innī as'aluka min faḍlik

Translation

O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty.

Seeking Forgiveness

General dua recommended throughout

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Transliteration

Rabbighfir lī wa tub 'alayya innaka antat-tawwābur-raḥīm

Translation

My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Upon Completion

After completing Hajj or Umrah

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ حَجًّا مَبْرُورًا وَسَعْيًا مَشْكُورًا وَذَنْبًا مَغْفُورًا

Transliteration

Allāhummaj'alhu ḥajjan mabrūran wa sa'yan mashkūran wa dhanban maghfūrā

Translation

O Allah, make it an accepted Hajj, an appreciated effort, and a forgiven sin.
